The new and exciting chapter of Carolina football officially begins on Monday night when the Tar Heels host TCU to open up the 2025 season.
All eyes will be on Chapel Hill as Bill Belichick begins his reign as the UNC football program's head coach.
It's been a crazy couple of months since last season came to a close. From Mack Brown being relieved from his duties to the entire head coaching search in itself, not many people can honestly say they expected this outcome to occur.
Even when the program made it official, the media clamored that we would never see the day that Belichick would take the field as North Carolina's head coach!

While there's been plenty of outside noise surrounding Belichick (especially regarding his love life), the focus remains the same: how can the UNC football program right the ship and become the national powerhouse they aspire to be?
Well, the university took drastic steps to help aid this process, as the hiring of Belichick was just the start of the program makeover. From hiring a general manager to improving facilities, North Carolina is showing everyone that they are all-in, looking to find plenty of success in this new era of Tar Heel football.
Of course, no one would blame you for having your doubts about this team. Quite frankly, we don't know much about this team, especially given that the roster features 70 newcomers. Add that along with a whole new-look coaching staff and front office: even TCU probably doesn't know what to expect come 8:00 PM EST on Monday night.
Even though there are plenty of question marks surrounding this year's roster, make no mistake: Belichick and his staff will continue to develop this group and will have them more than prepared for each and every game they play.
We all want instant results. Let's face it: when you hire a head coach who is in his early 70s who comes to town with six Super Bowl championships under his belt, you aren't thinking about 10 years down the road.
The road to winning starts NOW.
It will take some time. Let's remember: Rome wasn't built in a day. However, the Tar Heels are going into this new journey with the mindset that they are ready to compete now, developing over time to be even more competitive as time goes on.
For now, we all just have to anxiously wait for kick-off as we prepare for our first look at the UNC football program under the direction of legendary head coach Bill Belichick.
