The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award is one that recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football from either a Texas High School or currently playing at a four-year college in the state of Texas.

While on-field production is taken into consideration, the award is annually presented to a student-athlete who exhibits some of the characteristics that define the legendary Earl Campbell. Some of those include integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity (among others).

Ahead of the 2025 season, newcomer Chad Lindberg of the UNC football program has earned a spot among the list.

A transfer from Rice, Lindberg heads to Chapel Hill as a graduate transfer. He started 11 games for the Owls a season ago, all of which came on the left side of the offensive line.

The 6-foot-6, 315-pounder from League City, Texas aims to help the UNC football program in the trenches this upcoming season, aiming to put together a strong final season of college football. While his on-field abilities made him an intriguing option in the transfer portal for Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels, his leadership, experience and personality made him an ideal fit for what North Carolina is looking to build with the new-look UNC football program.

While we don't know exactly where Lindberg fits in the UNC football program's offensive line puzzle, it would be a safe bet to say that the Tar Heels have a plan in place to have him make some type of impact throughout the 2025 season.
