It goes without saying, but a lot of people were silenced on Tuesday night when the North Carolina Tar Heels made some NCAA Tournament history in their win over San Diego State. Things got so out of hand, even team greats Theo Pinson and Ty Lawson had to clap back at the haters.
However, for some people, it didn't matter what North Carolina got done against the Aztecs or what they do as a whole in the Big Dance. Nope, if you ask Seth Davis, nothing is going to change his opinion that Hubert Davis and his players had no business being a part of March Madness. Wait, so if the Tar Heels stun everyone and reach the Final Four, that won't change his mind?
Whatever happens with North Carolina tonight and in the tournament has ZERO to do with whether the Heels should have been in. A win validates nothing, a loss invalidates nothing.

This is the NCAA Tournament. Please don't try to make sense of it.
Seth Davis was adamant UNC should have never made the NCAA Tournament
Let us start by saying we're big fans of Seth Davis - he's one of the most respected college hoops reporters out there. However, we've got to disagree with him here. He fired off this tweet before North Carolina posted a 28-point win over San Diego State, so we'll forgive him a little.
But that doesn't take away from the point that we can't just disregard that it happened. Say North Carolina beats Ole Miss on Friday and moves on to the second round too. Will that be good enough for UNC haters to admit that the team belongs?
What if the Heels beat Ole Miss, then come out on top in the second round to make the Sweet Sixteen. Would that then be good enough? This is an argument that might last for the next few months, as fans of Indiana, West Virginia and others remain livid that UNC grabbed a spot in the first four.
There were so many people waiting for the Tar Heels to drop the ball and lose to San Diego State, but RJ Davis scored 26 points to lead the way for a lopsided win. The start of the tourney couldn't have gone better for this team and UNC will look to keep things rocking against Ole Miss. Should a win be posted over the Rebels, we can only hope Seth Davis and others will be singing a different tune.
