Caleb Wilson has made it very clear that he takes notes and keeps receipts. If you wrong Wilson in any which way, he will remember and will make sure that he gets his revenge when the opportunity presents itself.

When the UNC basketball program hosted Notre Dame this week, Wilson dominated like he typically does. The freshman forward finished the night with 22 points on 8-11 shooting, recording seven rebounds and five assists in the Tar Heels blowout victory. While many just saw it as another day in the office for Wilson, there was some added motivation behind his performance, courtesy of none other than Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry.

What kind of beef does Wilson have with Shrewsberry?!

When Shrewsberry met with the media for his weekly ACC Coaches Call on Monday morning, the head coach of the Fighting Irish mentioned a very interesting tidbit regarding Wilson.

According to Shrewsberry, Wilson made sure to remind him after the game that he cut Wilson from the USA Basketball Junior National U18 team in 2024. Wilson uttered a simple line to express his gratitude for Shrewsberry:

"Thanks for motivating me."

Everyone operates differently and is motivated by different variables. For Caleb Wilson, his clear motivation is to prove the doubters wrong, as evident once again by this particular case.

Shrewsberry and the USA Basketball staff didn't have faith in Wilson back in 2024, electing to not include him on their roster. It fueled Wilson to work even harder, and now he is sitting in a firm position to be a top-five pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Wilson had to wait a bit for his chance at redemption, but made sure to capitalize on the moment when the time came.

After the mission was complete, he made sure Shrewsberry knew that he sparked the fuel in Wilson, especially throughout the Tar Heels' blowout victory over his Notre Dame team.
