There's no question that Caleb Wilson loves North Carolina and loved being a Tar Heel. It's an unfortunate stroke of bad luck that kept Wilson from having the sort of run in the NCAA Tournament that he deserved.

However, there was also no question that Wilson had to go to the NBA. He was not only going to be a lottery pick, but he was going to be a top-five pick and one that some think should've been a top-three selection. It's a lifelong dream that was fulfilled when Wilson went fourth overall to the Chicago Bulls. And on Wednesday, the details of Wilson's rookie contract were released, and it's one that should convince any remaining fans that didn't understand his decision to go pro.

According to Sportstrac, Wilson's annual salary is expected to breakdown as such:

Year 1: $10,686,240
Year 2: $11,220,600
Year 3: $11,755,200
Year 4: $14,870,328

As with all NBA rookie contracts for first-round picks, the first two years are fully guaranteed and the third and fourth years are team options.

Of course, by the end of that third season is when the contract talks begin and if Wilson turns out to be the player that we all expect, it's highly likely the Bulls will offer him a five-year extension on the rookie scale for 25% of the salary cap.

Caleb Wilson is expected to sign 4-year, $48.5 million rookie contract with the Chicago Bulls

Wilson was long rumored to be the player that would land with the Bulls and his early introduction to the local Chicago media during the NBA Draft Combine gave that fanbase an example of the charisma that will make him an immediate favorite. And when it's time for the 6-foot-10 forward to get on the floor, expect all the effort all the time.

"I want to be the greatest player of all time," Wilson said after he was drafted. "Y'all got one of the GOATs in your history right now. It's time for another one. I'm hungry to be the greatest, that's me."

The GOAT in Chicago is going to be a very tall order as long as No. 23 is sitting in the rafter with six championships. But as Michael Jordan said a few years ago, "the ceiling is the roof" and if one of his fellow Tar Heels is ready to take a stab at greatness, we are all here for it.
