There are going to be some emotional scenes in Chapel Hill this weekend, as beloved UNC basketball great Caleb Wilson is back on campus for a quick visit. Welcome home, Caleb! Wilson making the trip over works out perfectly for Michael Malone, too, as this is set to be a MAJOR recruiting weekend for him and his staff.

In case you missed it, North Carolina locked in official visits with CJ Rosser and Jordan Page, both of whom are 5-star prospects. The pressure is on for Malone to make sure their trips go as close to perfect as possible, but this is where Wilson can step in and do the Tar Heels a huge favor.

Everyone knows just how much Wilson loves Carolina, and the feeling is mutual. And it's safe to assume he wants UNC to land big-name prospects now that he has said goodbye to the program, too. With that, let him put his recruiting hat on in the coming days, and also let CW inform Rosser and Page why his love for the Tar Heels has no limits.

You've got to give a ton of credit to Malone, as he's flexing his recruiting muscles in making elite talent like this a top priority. With Rosser in particular, he is in town right after releasing his Top 7 schools. He's down to North Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Arkansas, NC State, and USC.

As you can see, there's serious competition for Carolina to get this done, but Malone knows what it's going to take to make sure he potentially lands him in the coming months. As for Page, he's also a North Carolina product just like Rosser, with incredibly high interest in the Tar Heels. NC State has also been making him a focus, but it's UNC getting him in town first for an official visit.

With those two being homegrown products, it adds to the importance of Malone making sure they don't play elsewhere. Again, though, landing either of them is going to be much easier said than done. What can help there? Enter Wilson.

In case you forgot, Wilson was downright sensational while donning Carolina blue, setting multiple freshman records, which helped open the door for the Chicago Bulls to take him No. 4 overall in the 2026 NBA Draft. Wilson put on a show whenever he was at the Dean Dome, but a pair of injuries robbed us all of seeing him play in the ACC Tournament and NCAA Tournament.

Despite that, Wilson wants to see Carolina flourish even if he's not in the lineup anymore. Because of that, UNC can use him as a recruiting tool, especially now that he's in the NBA as a first-round pick. That can start now with Rosser and Page getting ready to see what the school is all about. Malone needs to take full advantage of Wilson being in town too, period. If Wilson does help UNC post a monster recruiting win or two, it will only add to how beloved he is among the entire fanbase.
