Has Cade Tyson finally arrived to the party?!

The UNC basketball program sure hopes so.

Tyson put together his best performance thus far as a Tar Heel, leading the UNC basketball program to a decisive victory over La Salle on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill.

Yes, we understand that La Salle isn't the toughest team on the UNC basketball program's 2024-2025 schedule, but there are some things to be encouraged about following the win.

For starters, the week off seemed to do the Tar Heels well. They looked fresh out the gate, riding a 20-2 run to not only erase an early 8-2 deficit, but to take the lead for good.

From that point on, the Tar Heels took control of the game.

Taking a 17-point lead into the halftime break (one that was highlighted by an introductory ceremony of Bill Belichick and Bryce Baker), North Carolina kept their foot on the gas in the second half. In total, 12 different Tar Heels scored, as it essentially was an all-around effort in terms of putting the ball in the basket.

Tyson was the star, finishing with a game-high 23 points. He connected on five three-point field goal attempts, a promising sign for the Tar Heels who could desperately benefit if he can continue to stretch the floor and knock down shots.

Ven-Allen Lubin had a strong outing as well, making all four of his shots en route to a 10-point, 5-rebound effort. RJ Davis (13 points) and Seth Trimble (10 points) also scored in double-figures.

Now, the UNC basketball program hits the road as they prepare for two games against top 25 foes this week. It gets started on Tuesday night in Charlotte when the Tar Heels take on No. 9-ranked Florida in the annual Jumpman Classic.

This week will tell us a lot about what North Carolina is capable of.
