Why this could make sense: Koppen was a major piece on the Patriots offensive lines during the 2000s, a unit that was considered dominant during that span of time. If anyone knows about protections and how Belichick likes his offensive lines to operate it's Koppen, a guy who would definitely help groom the Tar Heels offensive lines of the future.
