Following his official visit to UNC earlier this week, five-star guard Brady Pettigrew has decided its time to narrow his recruitment to 10 programs.

To no surprise, UNC made the latest cut, but the competition will be steep to land the current Class of 2028 star.

Brady Pettigrew cuts his recruitment down to 10 programs

As announced on his social media pages, Pettigrew revealed the 10 teams who he will be focusing on as his recruitment starts to heat up.

Along with the Tar Heels, Pettigrew is also still considering Arkansas, BYU, Duke, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan Ohio State, and USC.

Currently ranked as the No. 9 overall prospect in the Class of 2028, there's been speculation that Pettigrew could eventually reclassify to join this year's class. Based on how his recruitment is going, it wouldn't be a surprise to see this happen, but it also shouldn't be viewed as a guarantee at this point.

There will be a lot of factors to consider for Pettigrew when he decides when he wants to take his talents to the collegiate level.

However, whether he stays in his current grade or moves up one, North Carolina, along with the other finalists, will be thrilled to have him whenever that happens.

After landing DeMarcus Henry, Michael Malone and his staff want to add even more elite talent in the upcoming recruiting classes. Pettigrew is one of the handful of prospects who have been heavily linked to the Tar Heels, especially after his recent official visit seemed to be a really good one.

As is the case with essentially every recruit they go after, Malone and his staff will face elite competition on the recruiting trail. However, UNC isn't playing around and is willing to go above-and-beyond to get the guys they covet, as they should be considered heavy players for any recruit they have on their radar.

It's no secret that UNC wants to secure a commitment from Pettigrew. The question remains: can they get it done?
