Just when you thought the Bosh Magic wasn't making an appearance this postseason, how quickly the tide turned!
Down to their final two outs, the Diamond Heels once again found the magic, securing a walk-off victory over USC to clinch their ticket to Omaha!
UNC's epic walk-off win sends them back to Omaha!
After Tyler Howe grounded out on the first pitch of the ninth inning, Cooper Nicholson hit an absolute bomb down the left field line that looked like it tied the game. Unfortunately, it was just foul, but the Diamond Heels' third baseman put together a brilliant at-bat to work a walk to get the Tar Heels going.
Carter French, who entered the game as a replacement for Rom Kellis, stepped up to the plate for what will be his final at-bat at Boshamer Stadium. Calm, cool, & collected, French worked the count to 3-0, forcing USC to make a swift pitching change.
Working the count to 3-2, French delivered, poking a single to right field, setting up first and third with one man out for Jake Schaffner.
All North Carolina needed was a fly ball to tie the game, which is exactly what Schaffner provided. Gavin Gallaher followed with a walk, setting up first and second with two outs for Owen Hull.
Hull, who already had three doubles in the game, had one more left in his bat, as he drilled one to the warning track that scored the game winning run.

Simply unbelievable!
UNC couldn't get anything going offensively through the first seven innings, as a 3-1 USC lead felt much larger given the Tar Heels struggles to hit with runners on base. However, you can never count out the Bosh Magic making a special appearance, a very timely visit for a team that truly deserves to compete in Omaha next weekend.
What a year it's been for Scott Forbes and the Tar Heels. Even after suffering a loss in game one of the Super Regionals, this team never gave up and continued to fight until the very last out. Fortunately, the final out of the bottom of the ninth was never recorded, as UNC found a way to get the job done in stunning fashion.
There's no more baseball at the Bosh until next season, but the memories we all gained from this season add to the special history we've all witnessed in the past. Now, the goal is to make some special memories in Omaha, as a trip there is just the beginning for the UNC baseball program.
