Billy Edwards Jr. didn't get the result he wanted on Saturday night, but he did, however, earn some well-deserved recognition for the performance he strung together.
UNC's quarterback was named the ACC Quarterback of the Week following his outstanding showing against the No. 1-ranked Miami Hurricanes, the conference announced Monday.
Given what Edwards did against the nation's top-ranked team, this one shouldn't come as much of a surprise.

Billy Edwards was outstanding against No. 1 Miami
Edwards completed 28 of his 34 pass attempts for a season-high 341 yards and a career-high four touchdowns in the Tar Heels' heartbreaking 38-35 loss to Miami.
His 82% completion rate was one of the best marks of his collegiate career, while his 205.4 quarterback rating showed just how efficient the sixth-year signal-caller was against one of the nation's best teams.
After missing on his first two passes of the night, Edwards completed 12 consecutive attempts.
He also finished the game by completing each of his final eight throws.Nine different Tar Heels caught a pass from Edwards, with eight recording multiple receptions as UNC consistently moved the football against the Hurricanes.
Pro Football Focus rewarded Edwards with a season-high 87.7 overall grade, including an 84.7 passing grade. Of course, the numbers only tell part of the story.
Edwards clearly battled through discomfort throughout the night but kept getting back up and making plays as UNC went toe-to-toe with the No. 1 team in the country.
Even after Miami took a 38-28 lead late in the fourth quarter, Edwards wasn't finished.
He led the Tar Heels on another touchdown drive, connecting with Trech Kekahuna to cut the deficit to three and give North Carolina one final opportunity to pull off the upset.
The Tar Heels ultimately came up short, but Edwards' performance deserves a ton of praise.
After his best performance as a Tar Heel, the ACC made sure he received well-deserved recognition.
