For several weeks Keeyun Chapman has been trending toward UNC, and it feels like it's just a matter of time before the Tar Heels 2026 recruiting class has another new member.

Chapman, a 6-foot-4, 195-pound pass catcher from Jackson, Alabama, has been down to FSU and UNC for over a month. He took his official visit to Chapel Hell on May 30 and took an official to Tallahassee a week later.

Since taking those visits, UNC has put itself in a prime position to land the big-body receiver. While Chapman hasn't made his announcement official yet, there has been enough smoke for Chad Simmons from On3 to declare a prediction for the Tar Heels.

One of the big moves UNC made to get in this position with Chapman is taking the commitment of his brother, Keegun Chapman, on June 27. The Tar Heels were the only schools in Keeyun Chapman's top list to offer his brother, and they have made it clear they would like to play together.

The ties don't stop there. UNC also has another one of Chapman's high school teammates, safety Jamarrion Gordon, committed in the class. Gordon is a 6-foot, 185-pound defensive back who made his pledge to the Tar Heels on June 25. Keeyun Chapman was expected to make his announcement by now, but it might simply be a situation where he wanted his teammate, and his brother to have their spotlight as well.

UNC putting an emphasis on size in this WR recruiting class

UNC has three wide receivers committed in the 2026 recruiting class, and they all have one this in common -- size. Recently the Tar Heels received a pledge from Zamaurious Robertson, a 6-foot-1, 170 pound receiver from Dillon, South Carolina, and he's the smallest pass catcher of the bunch.

In-state prospect Jayden Griffin-Haynes committed to UNC earlier this month. He is 6-3, 210 pounds and could project to be more of a tight end at the next level depending on how much more he grows.

Kei'Maurii Miles, a 6-2, 170-pounder from Columbus, Georgia, became a member of the class back in April. All three prospects are above six feet tall, and now the Tar Heels just need Keeyun Chapman to put a cherry on the class.
