We've seen Bill Belichick win a lot of football games over the years.

However, we haven't seen him celebrate many of them quite like he did on Saturday night in Durham.

The UNC football program reclaimed the Victory Bell with a win over Duke, marking Belichick's first victory over the Blue Devils as the Tar Heels' head coach.

And judging by his postgame celebration, this one meant a little something extra.

Bill Belichick's first win over Duke was about more than just the Victory Bell

Following the win, Belichick got his opportunity to ring the Victory Bell, and the legendary head coach couldn't hide the pure joy on his face.

Forget the stone-faced Belichick we've become accustomed to seeing on NFL sidelines for decades: this man was having the time of his life!

As awesome as the moment above was, Belichick's postgame social media message offered some perspective on why this particular victory means so much to him.

Belichick shared the video of himself ringing the Victory Bell on Instagram with a simple caption:

"This one's for you, Dad."

Those five words carry plenty of meaning.

Belichick's late father, Steve, also had a connection to the UNC football program. Long before his son became one of the most accomplished coaches in football history, and decades before Bill eventually found his way to Chapel Hill, Steve Belichick served as an assistant coach for the Tar Heels from 1953 through 1955. This connection added another layer to Belichick's arrival at North Carolina from the very beginning.

Now, after earning his first rivalry win over Duke and getting his first chance to ring the Victory Bell, Belichick made sure his father was part of the moment.

That's what makes this whole moment even more special.

This win wasn't about another trophy or another addition to Belichick's already legendary résumé. It was about family and the Carolina ties his father cemented in Chapel Hill long ago.

His father taught him what it means to be a Tar Heel, and now Belichick has the chance to be a part of the family on his own terms as the head coach of the UNC football program. Regardless of your role or place within the Carolina family, beating Duke always means more.

While the stats and the box score tell you exactly what happened in the game, the five words Belichick wrote on social media show what this win means for him.

Without a doubt, this one will rank among Belichick's most meaningful victories over his legendary coaching career.
