Another NFL head coaching job has opened up, and, of course, Bill Belichick is already being tied to it!

The latest comes from East Rutherford, New Jersey, a place where Belichick is quite familiar with. No, the New York Jets, the franchise Belichick almost served as the head coach of, isn't the team we're talking about.

We're talking about Big Blue- the New York Football Giants.

Belichick spent over a decade with the Giants, working his way up to become the team's defensive coordinator from 1985-1990. He helped guide the Giants to two Super Bowl championships during that time, an era where the franchise's defense, led by former UNC football legend Lawrence Taylor, were an absolute nightmare for opposing offenses to deal with.

Of course, once this job became vacant following the firing of Brian Daboll, we knew that Belichick's name would get thrown into the mix. Whether it's due to actual interest from one (or both) sides, or just the media loving to include Belichick in any coaching search for clicks, Tar Heel fans have grown accustomed to the outside noise surrounding the 73-year-old's future.

When asked by the media on Monday to comment on the rumors, Belichick gave a short answer that we all should've expected from him:

"I’m focused on Wake Forest. That’s it."

Belichick remains adamant that he is fully committed to what he's working to build with the UNC football program, as any rumors attached to him are at the moment untrue. Of course, the right opportunity could always sway Belichick's decision, but for now, it truly feels like he is fully invested in Chapel Hill, especially with the recent improvement he's seen from his team as the 2025 season progresses.

For the New York/New Jersey area media looking for a story, unfortunately, you're not going to get it from Bill Belichick.
