Since taking over as the head coach of the UNC football program, Bill Belichick and his staff haven't had issues convincing high school recruits to call Chapel Hill their future home.
In fact, North Carolina boasts a top-25 recruiting class in 2026, the first full year that Belichick and his crew have been on the recruiting trail. Putting a huge emphasis on this class, the Tar Heels secured nearly 40 commitments in this class, a group they hope can set the foundation for years to come.
While the 2026 class has the potential to be a special one, the focus now shifts to 2027, where Belichick and the Tar Heels are hoping to flip the commitment from one top offensive linemen in the class.
Georgia commit locks in a visit to UNC
Kelsey Adams, a four-star prospect who is currently committed to Georgia, is re-evaluating his options. Along with visiting Georgia once again, Adams has scheduled four additional visits, including one to Chapel Hill this June.

His schedule is as follows:
• Georgia: May 29-31
• LSU: June 5-7
• Miami: June 12-14
• North Carolina: June 17-19
• Ohio State: June 20-22https://t.co/rTUn27Hl3x pic.twitter.com/bHOrw7NBM1
Adams will be on campus from June 19-21, which currently serves as his second-to-last visit. He'll visit LSU and Miami before heading to North Carolina, and will take the trip to Ohio State following his time in Chapel Hill.
Who is Kelsey Adams?
A Fairburn, Georgia native, Adams is a 6-foot-5, 293-pounder who plays offensive tackle for Langston Hughes High School.
Viewed as a four-star prospect, Adams is on the verge of cracking the top-10 prospect list at his position, as 247 Sports Composite currently tabs him as the No. 11-ranked offensive tackle that this recruiting class has to offer.
Adams would be a major addition for UNC
While it's still early in the process for this recruiting class, the Tar Heels have secured three commitments from 2027 standouts.
In-state native Marquis Bryant is the lone four-star thus far, but adding a player of Adams' caliber would provide the Tar Heels with another blue-chip type of prospect to build this class around.
At this point, it wouldn't be surprising to see Adams move up the recruiting boards, potentially even earning that illustrious fifth star that he's just one away from obtaining. The competition will be steep, but the Tar Heels have proven they can get the guys they want.
Let's face it: it's pretty tough to turn down an opportunity to play for a coach who won six Super Bowl championships as an NFL head coach!
