The recruiting news just keeps on hitting for the UNC football program!

Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels have been on an absolute recruiting heater, securing commitments now from four players over the past 48 hours.

It all started with a former Arkansas commit, and then proceeded with an addition to the team's future offensive line via the transfer portal. The action picked up on Wednesday morning when a New Jersey product flipped his commitment from Penn State to UNC, and this latest prospect followed suit shortly after.

Who is Kymistrii Young?

Kymistrii Young is a three-star wide receiver prospect from Sarasota, Florida. He originally committed to Purdue in the early part of June, choosing the Boilermakers over the likes of Michigan State, South Florida, Penn State, Florida State, Mississippi State, and Virginia Tech (among others).

How did UNC come into the picture?

About a month ago, the UNC football program firmly entered the mix. Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels extended an offer his way on October 15, and since then have put the full-court press on to lure him to Chapel Hill.

North Carolina finally convinced him to take an official visit to Chapel Hill, one in which he was on-hand for the rivalry matchup against Duke. The visit, and his time speaking to the coaching staff, was more than enough to change his mind, ultimately leading him to re-route his college football plans.

Great for UNC, bad for Purdue

It's evident that Young became a priority target for the UNC football program, and they moved rather quickly to make this flip happen. Young is now the fifth wide receiver to commit to the Tar Heels, as the program now has 38 total commitments within its 2026 recruiting haul.

This rapid pace of commitments has been simply insane. Based on the last few days, it's safe to say that you'll probably see more commitments as Belichick and the UNC football program continue on their recruiting heater.
