The end of the Bill Belichick era might be coming to an end much sooner than anyone ever anticipated.

Throughout the day on Wednesday, reports continued to swirl regarding Belichick's status with the UNC Football program. As more information comes to light, Ollie Connolly of The Guardian shared some new insights, some that are simply mind-boggling to read.

If you want the cliff notes, here they are:

-North Carolina and Belichick have discussed potential buyout options. Belichick has signalled a willingness to trigger his $1 million buyout IF he can find a "soft landing" with another team or in the media.

-Some members of Belichick's coaching staff have already spoken to other schools (especially those who have a chance to make the College Football Playoff), about taking roles during postseason action.

-There are reports of serious recruiting violations that remain under investigation at UNC. The university has also proven both recruiting and practice violations already.

-If Belichick can't find a landing spot to trigger his buyout, he's expected to agree to a greatly reduced buyout rate.

-Connolly reports that Belichick has been "weird" and "distant" with his staff over the last two weeks, and multiple coaches indicated they could not get in touch with Belichick during the bye week.

-One UNC defensive assistant was on the record saying, ""What we've done to these kids is f****d up."

WHAT A DISASTER!

The news just keeps getting worse as more information circulates. It goes to show that Belichick has simply ruined the UNC football program in just a matter of months, creating a toxic environment that has caused plenty of problems for the university and the football program as a whole.

It finally appears as if the administration is working hard to put an end to this short-lived nightmare chapter of North Carolina football.
