Armando Bacot dominates in his NBA G-League debut
Former UNC basketball star Armando Bacot made his NBA G-League debut on Saturday for the Memphis Hustle.
Bacot certainly made the most of his 37 minutes of action, carrying on his legacy as a double-doubles machine to the professional ranks. The former Tar Heel finished with 17 points, 18 rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 103-97 loss to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Oh, and did we mention that Bacot knocked down three (yes, three!) three-pointers in the game?!
How about the fact that Bacot took 9 (yes, 9!) three-point field goal attempts in the game (remember: Bacot only took 10 total three-point shots during his final season with the UNC basketball program).
If you missed the game, check out some of the highlights below:
Bacot is working to show that he is more than just a traditional big man. While we know he can beat opposing teams in the post while being a handful to stop in terms of rebounding, Bacot is working on his range and is looking to prove that he can stretch the floor.
If he can continue knocking down 30-35% of his three-point field goal attempts, don't be surprised if Bacot gets an opportunity at the NBA level in the near future.
The NBA G-League provides players with an opportunity to showcase their talent. Bacot is already making a statement, as he's certainly not letting this opportunity slip away.
