The player personnel staff for the UNC football program is expected to get bigger.

According to Inside Carolina, former Director of Player Personnel Taylor Edwards is expected to join Bill Belichick's staff in the player personnel department. He is an executive who comes to Chapel Hill following a rocky ending to his previous stint at South Carolina.
Before we get to that, let's start from the beginning.
Edwards began as a personnel assistant at Jacksonville State in 2013 and became the director of recruiting at UAB a year later. After spending time at UAB, Edwards held various roles at Samford, Alabama, Arkansas, and Maryland.
Most recently, Edwards served as the Director of Player Personnel at South Carolina from 2021-2024. His tenure quickly ended as he resigned following the school's reporting of an NCAA violation.
Now, Edwards is expected to make his way to Chapel Hill to join the Tar Heels new-look player personnel department. While the recent violation that he was tied to is concerning (given the last thing the UNC football program needs is any potential NCAA violations), the duo of Belichick and Michael Lombardi wouldn't have hired him if they didn't believe he'd be an asset to the program moving forward.
