Another day, another commitment for Bill Belichick and the UNC football program.

The latest comes from Class of 2026 three-star tight end Aidan Woods. An Abingdon, Virginia native, Woods chose North Carolina over West Virginia, the other school that he visited during his recruitment process.

It's fitting that yet another high school prospect pledged to North Carolina just days after their official visit to Chapel Hill. Woods, a 6-foot-5, 280-pounder, becomes the latest to do so, as his trip to blue heaven made the different in his recruitment.

According to 247Sports, Woods ranks as the No. 81-ranked tight end prospect that the Class of 2026 has to offer. He garnered a handful of offers, including those from Central Michigan, Coastal Carolina, Cornell, Liberty, Old Dominion, Syracuse, Wake Forest, and West Virginia.

The UNC football program hasn't made many "major splashes" on the high school recruiting trail since Bill Belichick and the new regime took over, but that doesn't mean the additions they have made should be overlooked. North Carolina has done a great job putting together one of the top 2026 recruiting classes in the country, as there's still plenty of time to rise up the rankings before this cycle comes to a close.

Don't look now, but Belichick and the UNC football program are striving to build something special in Chapel Hill! Aidan Woods becomes the latest piece to that future puzzle for the program.
