One of the new rules the Atlantic Coast Conference implemented this year requires programs to provide an injury update before every conference matchup in football and basketball (both men's and women's).
Ahead of the UNC basketball program's ACC opener against Florida State on Tuesday night, we learned more information about the injury report for both teams.
We must say, there is some interesting information that comes from this injury report.
Florida State's injury update
Florida State will be without Xavier Osceola, a freshman guard from Hollywood, Florida. Osceola has yet to play in a game for the Seminoles this season.
North Carolina's injury update
The Tar Heels are expected to have everyone available for this matchup, but three players are listed as "probable."
Luka Bogavac, James Brown and Isaiah Denis popped up on the injury report but are all expected to play on Tuesday night. Given the Tar Heels have had extended time off for the holiday season, it was a bit surprising to see a trio of players even show up as probable on this initial injury report.
These injury reports don't indicate what the player is currently dealing with (such as upper-body injury, lower-body injury, illness, etc.). While the report gives us limited information, it gives us an idea that a specific player (or players) are dealing with something regarding their health, as each ACC program must provide an accurate list prior to each conference game they compete in.
