The UNC basketball program seems to love the roster that Southeastern Prep High School currently has.

Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels have been heavily active in recruiting C.J. Rosser, arguably the top player that the Class of 2027 has to offer, along with Obinna Ekezie Jr., another top-tier five-star talent that the class has to offer. Now, they have identified a third player from this high school roster that they like: true point guard Beckham Black.

North Carolina extends an offer to Beckham Black

Just a few weeks after watching him compete in the John Wall Invitational, the UNC basketball program has extended an offer to Black, a 6-foot-3 guard. Black announced that he received the offer on social media on Friday night.

The high school junior was impressive when the head coach of the Tar Heels was in attendance, showing off the various skills he possesses. He finished the game, a victory over Davidson Day, with 14 points and six assists, and knocked down both of his attempts from beyond-the-arc.

If you watch Black in action, he gives you the old-school point guard type of vibe. While he can score the basketball, he's always looking to be a pass-first type of guard, finding ways to get his teammates involved.

Now, the last name might sound familiar, that's because it is. His older brother, Anthony, was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft after spending one season at Arkansas, and is currently still in the league in his third season.

Update on the 2027 Recruiting Class

With the offer extended to Black, the UNC basketball program has now offered six players from the Class of 2027:

C.J. Rosser
Obinna Ekezie Jr.
Nasir Anderson
Jordan Page
King Gibson
Beckham Black

While high school recruiting tends to prolong a bit more now with the emergence of the transfer portal, the UNC basketball program is identifying the players that they believe can be impact players right out of the gate, hoping to build a strong recruiting class to bolster future rosters.
