The Milwaukee Bucks got off to a great start in NBA Summer League action, pulling off a buzzer-beater win over the Denver Nuggets.
A pair of former UNC basketball standouts put together strong outings to help the Bucks secure the victory.
Cormac Ryan was simply outstanding, scoring 18 points off the bench. He led all players with a +16 plus-minus rating, showing how effective the Bucks were when he was on the court. Not a bad night for the former Tar Heel in his debut with the Bucks organization.

Ryan channeled that inner "sicko mode" Tar Heel fans saw when the Tar Heels played rival Duke during his lone season on campus.

Pete Nance was also very good on Thursday night, contributing 13 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal. Nance earned the opportunity to start for the Bucks in their NBA Summer League opener, as he should continue to maintain that starting spot if he continues to play at this level.

The NBA Summer League is an important stretch for guys who are looking to make rosters for this upcoming season. There are quite a few Tar Heels competing this summer, as Ryan and Nance are two of the older guys who are still striving to prove they belong in the league.
Both Ryan and Nance are off to great starts in this process, as the hope is that they both continue building on their early summer league performances.
