A massive recruiting weekend is here for Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball team. After a bit of a delay, 5-star guard Dylan Mingo has made his way to Chapel Hill in what could prove to be a gigantic official visit for his future plans.

Mingo was supposed to be at UNC for the Top 25 showdown with Kansas, but airline issues forced him to cancel his trip and reschedule. Plenty of UNC fans were worried he would never make his way to campus, but he has wasted no time in confirming that he's already in town.
On Friday morning, Mingo, a New York prospect, indeed let Heels supporters know that he was able to make things work this time around, quickly posting a photo on social media of him inside of the Dean Dome. Yeah, we love seeing this:

Seeing all of those banners sure has to be eye-opening for the standout guard, right? We'd like to think so. Mingo is a top priority for Davis and his coaching staff, but landing him is not going to be easy for North Carolina. Nope, not at all.
According to the 247Sports Composites, the 6-5, 190-pounder is ranked five stars, the No. 2 combo guard in the country, No. 1 player from New York and No. 5 prospect overall for his class. He has picked up more than 20 offers this cycle, with Baylor, NC State, Penn State, Alabama and others also high on his list.
While UNC might have some catching up to do here, there's no question that a memorable 48 hours in Chapel Hill can do wonders for a recruitment battle. That's what Davis is focused on right now, as he's also hoping to land other big-name commitments for '26.
UNC will be hosting North Carolina Central on Friday night and while the atmosphere won't be as electric as the Kansas game, that won't matter for the Heels. They're still going to roll out the red carpet for Mingo and make sure his experience with the ACC powerhouse is one to remember. Thus far, it looks like Davis is succeeding there.
