What's next for the North Carolina basketball program? Hopefully a splash commit or two via the transfer portal. On Monday, shockwaves were sent when the breaking news arrived that former 5-star signee Ian Jackson, the No. 4 ranked shooting guard for his class, was entering the portal.

Since then, both St. John's and Arkansas have reached out - more schools will be doing so too. With Elliott Cadeau and Jalen Washington also leaving, Hubert Davis is working to add some big names himself for the 2025-26 roster. Guard Jonathan Powell and big man Henri Veesaar are on board, but a lot more help is needed. With that said, here's a look at three playmakers we'd like to see Davis go after. You know we've got a point guard in mind:

3. Michigan State transfer Tre Holloman

It should come as no surprise, but Michigan State transfer Tre Holloman is on our list here. The veteran guard spent the past three seasons playing for the Spartans and learning from legendary head coach Tom Izzo. Could a move to Chapel Hill be on the way?

This past season, Holloman averaged 9.1 points and 3.7 assists per game. According to On3 reporter Pete Nakos, Holloman has scheduled an official visit with North Carolina. He's also set to visit Baylor, Villanova and North Carolina State.

2. Princeton transfer Xaivian Lee

The search for the Cadeau replacement continues with Princeton's Xaivian Lee. The 6-4, 180-pounder from Toronto is also a veteran of the game, as he just finished his junior season. Lee spent the past three seasons with Princeton.

The Ivy League standout averaged 17.1 points and 3.7 assists in 2023-24. He followed things up with 16.9 points per contest and 5.5 assists per game this past campaign. On April 4, Lee entered the portal with a 'do not contact' tag, but he's yet to announce his next stop. A decision could already be made, but he's also planning to test the NBA Draft waters. Hopefully we find out soon where he ends up.

1. Baylor transfer Robert Wright III

Last but certainly not least, Baylor's Robert Wright is considered the dream addition by a lot of UNC fans. Wright surprised a lot of people by entering the portal, as the former 5-star prospect is coming off a strong first season at the college level.

Wright is going to have a boatload of suitors, there's no doubt about that. The Big 12 standout posted 11.5 points and 4.2 assists per game during his tremendous freshman campaign. If Davis hasn't called him yet, he needs to do so immediately.
