Jason DeCaro

The UNC baseball program's ace did ace-type things in his first start of the 2025 season.

If this game was in May or June, Jason DeCaro likely goes beyond the fifth inning (especially with his pitch count being at a very effective level). However, Scott Forbes got exactly what he needed from his ace, who was nearly unhittable on Friday afternoon.

DeCaro completed five innings of work, striking out six Texas Tech hitters. He did not allow a hit until there were two outs in the fifth inning, as it was not a fun time in the batters box for the opposing offense.

Poised for a huge sophomore season, DeCaro certainly got off to a great start to the season.
