A 4-4 start to the 2024-2025 season was not what UNC basketball fans had in mind.
In fact, a lot of fans (rightfully so) are concerned about the state of the current team.
The UNC basketball program is off to its worst start since the 2001-2002 season, a year in which the Tar Heels lost five of their first eight contests. We all try to forget the final result from that season, as North Carolina finished with a 8-20 record.
Now, we don't think this team is 8-20 bad. In fact, there's a lot of talent to go around. However, while things seem bad at the current moment, there's still a few reasons why fans should remain optimistic about this team moving forward.
