After putting together an outstanding senior season, UNC football commit Jordan Shipp has been invited to this year’s All-American Bowl.

The talk around the UNC football program has been focused on the departures, most notably the transfers of wide receivers Andre Greene Jr. and Tychaun Chapman along with Tez Walker heading to the NFL Draft.

Although the Tar Heels’ wide receiver depth took a hit, they are bringing in some reinforcements through their incoming freshman class.

After putting together a dominant senior season for Providence Day School, UNC football commit accepted an invitation to play in the 2024 All-American Bowl. The future Tar Heel will head to San Antonio for this year’s game, which will take place on January 6 and will be broadcast live on NBC.

Shipp, who is a four-star prospect and the No. 40 overall wide receiver in his graduating class, according to 247Sports Composite, was presented his All-American jersey in a ceremony on Friday. Based on his final high school numbers, Shipp proved that he belongs at the Power 5 level.

As a senior, Shipp was a major factor in leading his school to a  third straight NCISAA Division I state title.  He was a force to be reckoned with, as he recorded 66 catches for 1,195 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns during his senior campaign.

Overall, Shipp closed out his high school career with an impressive 174 receptions for 2,949 yards and 37 touchdowns in just 36 total games.

Shipp won’t be the only future Tar Heel playing in this year’s All-American Bowl, as he’ll be joined by long-snapper Grant Mills.

Fans of the UNC football program will get an early glimpse of what Shipp can bring to the table, as he possibly could be a player who makes an immediate impact on the team’s offense next season.
