Courtney Banghart and the UNC women’s basketball program will look to snap a three-game losing streak on Wednesday night as they host UNCG.

Coming off three straight losses, Courtney Banghart and the UNC women’s basketball program return to the court on Wednesday night to host UNC Greensboro.

The Tar Heels’ latest loss was a rather encouraging one, as they gave No. 1 South Carolina a very strong run for their money.  Two of the three recent losses came against top-25 ranked squads, which is a testament to the difficulty of the schedule North Carolina has ahead of them.

Before heading to Connecticut to take on Geno Auriemma and the UConn Huskies, the Tar Heels will host the Spartans in an in-state non-conference tilt.

Key to Victory for North Carolina

The shots just simply haven’t fallen for the UNC women’s basketball program, as offensive efficiency has been an issue early on in the season.

As good as they’ve been on the defensive side of the floor, they’ve had their fair share of struggles offensively, as the struggles to put the ball in the basket have hurt them over the last stretch of games.

There’s no question that this team is very talented. In fact, this group has more scoring options than it did a season ago.

With a few days off after the South Carolina game, expect Banghart and her staff to have some new things drawn up to test out as they look for ways to be more effective offensively. The hope is that the Tar Heels can put together a strong offensive performance that will help get this team back in the win column.

Something to Watch For

Teonni Key has been listed as “day-to-day,” as she has progressed to the point that she doesn’t need to wear a walking boot.

Could her return to the court be imminent?

The Tar Heels could benefit from having Key back, as there was plenty of hype surrounding her heading into the 2023-2024 season.

If she can return and remain healthy, this could be a huge addition to the Tar Heels’ regular rotation, as she could definitely impact the game on both sides of the floor.
