Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program have risen into the top 10 in the most recent AP Top-25 rankings heading into the Jimmy V Classic.

Chaos has hit the college basketball world, as no one is safe from being upset in non-conference action.

The UNC basketball program took care of business on the court this past week, as the slew of top-25 teams losing helped propel the Tar Heels into this week’s top 10.

North Carolina was the biggest riser in this week’s poll, jumping from No. 17 to No. 9. The Tar Heels are the highest-ranked ACC team heading into the new week of action, as Duke and Miami took massive drops.

The move into the top-10 sets up Tuesday night’s Jimmy V Classic to be an elite one, as the ninth-ranked Tar Heels will take on No. 5-ranked UConn in the second game of the event at Madison Square Garden.

Now that they have cracked the top 10 in the AP Poll, the goal is to stay there. With top-25 battles with UConn, Kentucky (No. 16), and Oklahoma (No. 19) looming, if the Tar Heels continue to win games, they can find themselves moving on up in the polls over the next couple of weeks.

All eyes will be on the UNC basketball program as they’ll look to prove that they, in fact, belong among the top teams in the entire country.
