I don’t know about you, but I’m still heartbroken that we only got one year of Coby White with the UNC basketball program!

When White arrived in Chapel Hill, he was expected to be a player that Roy Williams and the Tar Heels could build around at least for a couple of seasons.

However, White took North Carolina by storm, as he quickly developed into not only a fan-favorite, but one of the best point guards in the entire country.

Around a veteran Tar Heel team, White was able to be himself while learning the college game on the fly. His scoring ability was well on display, as he was second on the team in scoring.

White helped lead the Tar Heels to a 29-7 record, including an astounding 16-2 in ACC play. That record in conference play tied Virginia for the ACC Regular Season Title.

As a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, North Carolina would end up being upset by No. 5 seed Auburn in the Sweet 16. One of the most likable UNC basketball teams in recent memory, that was the last time we’d see quite a few fan-favorites in a Carolina uniform, as White ended up being one of those players.

You can’t blame him, as he went on to be the No. 7 overall selection by the Chicago Bulls in the 2019 NBA Draft. Selfishly, we all simply would have loved to see what White could’ve accomplished if he spent more time at the collegiate level.
