Fans of the UNC basketball program are going to LOVE seeing the past & present “Point Gods” spending time together in Chapel Hill.

Legendary UNC basketball point guard Ed Cota was on hand in Chapel Hill for the Tar Heels’ victory over No. 10-ranked Tennessee on Wednesday night.

Cota, who is often referred to as the “Point God,” got to witness a performance from a current UNC basketball standout that has fans making comparisons between the two.

Freshman Elliot Cadeau was outstanding, recording his first 10-assist game as a Tar Heel. His court vision and basketball IQ were well on display, as his ability to facilitate (and protect) the basketball has drastically improved North Carolina’s offensive attack.

It seems that Cota, a four-year starter for the UNC basketball program who led the Tar Heels to three Final Four appearances, is very impressed with the team’s current point guard.

On his Instagram story, Cota posted this photo of him with Cadeau after the game on Wednesday night. In big white letters across the bottom of the screen, Cota simply wrote “POINT GODS.”

Cadeau has shown flashes of greatness during his early UNC basketball career, as his ability to be a true point guard has been as good as advertised. The hope is that Cadeau can follow Cota’s footsteps in leading the Tar Heels back to a Final Four appearance this season.
