UNC Football: Cedric Gray accepts Senior Bowl invite
The announcement essentially confirms that Cedric Gray will be leaving the UNC football program to head to the National Football League.
Cedric Gray has been very upfront about his future plans.
Before the UNC football program’s senior day victory over rival Duke, Gray essentially confirmed that his intention was to enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
With news that surfaced on Friday night, that sentiment was all but confirmed.
The senior linebacker (who has a season of eligibility remaining) has accepted an invitation to play in the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl. After the season comes to a close, the Charlotte, North Carolina native will head to Mobile, Alabama to compete in this year’s event, which will be held on February 3, 2024.
One of the nation’s best linebackers, Gray will have another opportunity to showcase why he’s been such an important part of the UNC football program’s defensive unit. He has developed into one of the country’s top tacklers, as his skillset and collegiate production make him an enticing prospect for NFL teams.
There’s no better timing for Gray to test his luck at the professional level, as the career he put together as a member of the UNC football program has set him up nicely to be one of the first linebackers off the board during the 2024 NFL Draft.
