No. 3: Elijah Green, junior

The writing has been on the wall for Green, who announced during the 2023 season his intention to redshirt.

After leading the team (other than Drake Maye) in rushing a season ago, Green fell down the Tar Heels depth chart. Once Omarion Hampton secured the RB1 spot, it impacted the amount of meaningful reps the rest of the depth chart received.

With eligibility remaining, Green seems like an ideal candidate to test out the transfer portal to find an opportunity to play more elsewhere.

Green has been a great representation of not only the UNC football program but the University of North Carolina as a whole, and although the program would love to keep him around, playing time may factor into his future plans.
