Former UNC basketball player Wes Miller, now the head coach of Cincinnati, had a very familiar face at his team’s practice on Thursday.

As Wes Miller and the Cincinnati Bearcats prepared for their second game of the 2023-2024 season, the program had a special guest on hand.

Miller, a former UNC basketball standout who played for the program from 2004-2007, told reporters that his coach at North Carolina, legendary Roy Williams, was at his team’s practice.

After playing for Williams-led Tar Heels teams, Miller has risen through the coaching ranks. His coaching journey has led him to Cincinnati, as many even speculated that he was a front runner for the UNC basketball job when Williams elected to retire.

Williams has been keeping tabs on his former players in his spare time, as he was recently seen court-side at a Charlotte Hornets game checking in on some of his guys.

During his visit, Williams spoke to the Bearcats players, providing some words of encouragement as they get the 2023-2024 season in full-swing. He was also there supporting Miller, his former player, who definitely has carried some qualities he learned from Roy Williams throughout his coaching journey.
