UNC Basketball: One more time in Durham for Caleb Love
The former UNC basketball standout will get one more crack to play at Cameron Indoor Stadium as he looks to beat the Duke Blue Devils once again.
For Caleb Love, the circumstances are certainly different, but the goal remains the same.
Beat Duke.
The former UNC basketball standout will return to Cameron Indoor Stadium tonight, this time as a member of the Arizona Wildcats. Heโll have one more opportunity to defeat the Blue Devils on their home court.
Although his uniform is a lot different, Love typically has no problem being ready to play against Duke.
In three games at Cameron Indoor Stadium as a Tar Heel, Love averaged 19.7 points per game. He was dominant in the two games North Carolina won, scoring 25 points to go along with seven assists in the first outing while producing 22 points, five rebounds, and five assists in the second meeting in Durham, a win that ruined the final home game of Coach Kโs career.
Love struggled in the latest matchup, scoring just 12 points on 5-15 shooting, as the Tar Heels lost a 63-57 contest on February 4, 2023.
Not only does Love have plenty of history with the Blue Devils in the regular season, but his three-pointer over Mark Williams in the first-ever Final Four matchup between the two historic programs is one that serves as one of the greatest shots in UNC basketball history.

Itโs obvious that things didnโt necessarily end well for Caleb Love in Chapel Hill. Although he was heavily scrutinized, especially during the Tar Heels struggles throughout the 2022-2023 season, Love did a lot of good things for the UNC basketball program, especially his ability to play well in big-time games against the programโs most heated rival.
No matter how you feel about how Caleb Loveโs tenure with the UNC basketball program came to an end, I think we can all agree that weโre rooting for Love to lead Arizona to a victory on Friday night in Durham.
