UNC Football program jumps back into AP Top 25 Poll
After a week’s hiatus, Mack Brown and the UNC football program have found their way back into both weekly top 25 polls following the win over Campbell.
Well, that was quick.
Last week, the UNC football program dropped out of the AP Top 25 poll and barely hung onto a spot in the weekly coaches poll.
This week, the Tar Heels are back in both.
North Carolina moved up two spots to No. 23 in the coaches poll, and currently sit at No. 24 in the AP Poll.
Not only did the Tar Heels blowout victory over Campbell help its case, but the losses suffered by four ranked teams also trended in their favor. Air Force, UCLA, USC and Kansas State all lost their respective contests, as they all fell out of this week’s rankings.
After losing two straight ACC contests, the UNC football program’s slide to the bottom of (and out of) the weekly polls was justified. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for them to climb back into the AP Top 25 Poll, as they’ll hope to continue stacking wins which should help them move back up the rankings over the final few weeks of the regular season.
The UNC football program will now prepare for its final home game, as the Tar Heels will host rival Duke in an ACC primetime matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 PM EST, as the program will partake in its annual ‘Senior Night’ festivities.
