ACC Tournament Predictions

Nick Delahanty:

The hope is that the UNC basketball program won’t need a deep ACC Tournament run (or even title) to qualify for the NCAA Tournament this season…

By this point, I believe the Tar Heels will have a spot solidified in the big dance, but will also be in the ACC Tournament for a good portion of it. North Carolina, as the three seed, will lose to Miami in the semi-finals, as the Hurricanes will compete against a surprise team in the finals (Hint, Duke will get upset).

Jordan Falls:

UNC Basketball hasn’t had much success in the ACC Tournament as of late, and in the grand scheme of things, most of it doesn’t matter. When the Tar Heels don’t win the ACC Tournament, it tends to have better success in the real tournament that begins the following week.

Since 2009, the Tar Heels have made six total appearances in the ACC Tournament Championship, however, they have only won once (2016 over Virginia). I believe the trend of UNC Basketball not having success in the ACC Tournament continues this year, and they will exit with an ACC Tournament Semifinal Appearance in Washington, D.C.
