The Most Valuable Player- Armando Bacot

When Armando Bacot is at his best, the UNC basketball program seems to follow suit.

In his final season with the Tar Heels, Bacot has plenty to prove, as he hopes to lead this year’s squad to a deep NCAA Tournament run.

If he can stay healthy and be the dominant big man that he’s been over his collegiate career, good things will follow for the UNC basketball program.

For this award, you could put Bacot and RJ Davis as “1 and 1A,” but Bacot gets the slight edge given what he brings to the table in the post. This year’s squad doesn’t have a player like that (other than Bacot) as his presence forces teams to prioritize slowing him down.

Fortunately for Bacot, the Tar Heels have plenty of weapons that will take advantage of open opportunities, and will also provide more space for the fifth-year senior to work with in the post.

Bacot has already etched his name into the UNC basketball program’s record books, but hopes there’s more to come before his time in Chapel Hill comes to a close.
