Ahead of the 2023-2024 season, UNC basketball newcomer Harrison Ingram is regarded as one of the top players at his respective position.

There’s plenty of excitement surrounding the new-look UNC basketball roster heading into the 2023-2024 season.

Hubert Davis and his staff not only brought in two talented freshmen but added some veteran talent in the transfer portal that should make immediate impacts on the court in Chapel Hill.

Among the newcomers, Stanford transfer Harrison Ingram is considered to be one of, if not the, best of the group.

Ingram has been named to the Julius Erving Award Watch List for the 2023-2024 season. The award is presented annually to the country’s best small forward.

The Dallas, Texas native was the 2022 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year as he became a consistent presence in Stanford’s starting lineup. Over 65 games played during that two-year span, Ingram averaged 10.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.

North Carolina hopes that Ingram could contribute for them as he did for Stanford, as the qualities he possesses are some that which the Tar Heels lacked a season ago. The UNC basketball program missed out on landing him during his original recruitment, but are fortunate to have him as a transfer addition with a few seasons of eligibility remaining.
