As the 2023-2024 season approaches, the UNC women’s basketball program competed in a “secret scrimmage” on Sunday against Charlotte.

Both of the UNC basketball programs were in action this weekend, as we’re officially in “secret scrimmage” season.

On Saturday, the men’s team took care of No. 10-ranked FAU, a performance we all wish we could’ve seen.

On Sunday, it was the UNC women’s basketball team’s opportunity to take the court as they made the trip to Charlotte for their version of the “secret scrimmage.”

According to R.L. Bynum, the trip turned out to be a good one for Courtney Banghart’s team.

The No. 16-ranked Tar Heels reportedly defeated Charlotte by a score of 71-45. Other than the final score, no other reported stats have been released.

It was a good start for the UNC women’s basketball program, as next weekend’s closed scrimmage test will be a much tougher one. The Tar Heels will travel to Dallas, Texas, to take on No. 4-ranked UCLA in another closed scrimmage, one that should be a great preseason test for both squads.

After the scrimmage against UCLA, let the official games begin, as the UNC women’s basketball program will host Gardner-Webb on November 8 to start the college basketball season.
