The initial AP Poll for the 2023-2024 college basketball season has been revealed. Where do Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program stand?

On Monday, the first official AP poll was released for the upcoming 2023-2024 college basketball season.

The UNC basketball program will begin the season as the No. 19 ranked team in the country. Hubert Davis’ team comes in as the third-best ranked team in the ACC, trailing Duke (No. 2) and Miami (No. 13).

North Carolina comes into this season with a much different look. Following a disappointing 2022-2023 season that ended with not making the NCAA tournament, this year’s team features a bunch of new faces with a variety of previous experiences who hope to lead the Tar Heels back to the tournament this upcoming season.

Armando Bacot and R.J. Davis are back to lead the UNC basketball program, as the roster is essentially full of players who are about to partake in their first seasons in Chapel Hill. Although the roster may look different than it did a season ago, the ultimate goals for the program remains the absolute same.

The UNC basketball program kicks off its 2023-2024 season on November 6, as they host Radford in a non-conference tilt at the Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
