UNC Baseball: Zac Gallen channels inner Michael Jordan
The former UNC baseball star represented the University of North Carolina prior to his start in the National League Championship Series.
On Monday night, the National League Championship Series will get underway, as former UNC baseball star Zac Gallen is set to start for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Gallen met with the media on Sunday to discuss the upcoming series, as he took the opportunity to represent the University of North Carolina in the process.
The former Tar Heel was wearing a Michael Jordan UNC basketball warmup. When asked about Jordan’s mentality, Gallen spoke about studying it closely, admiring how he was always prepared for the spotlight and was never afraid to take the shot.
That mentality has helped Gallen as he’s developed into one of the best pitchers in all of Major League Baseball. Gallen looks to keep dominating on the mound in hopes of leading the Arizona Diamondbacks organization back to the World Series for the first time since 2001 and the second time in franchise history.
Tune in to Game One of the National League Championship Series on Monday, October 16. First pitch is scheduled for 8:07 PM EST, as the game will be televised on TBS.
