UNC Football program names captains for Syracuse contest
Here are your game-day captains for the UNC football program’s Saturday afternoon ACC contest against the Syracuse Orange.
Prior to kickoff against Syracuse on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill, the UNC football program announced its three captains for the important conference battle.
Star quarterback Drake Maye will represent the offense for this game. Maye is the leader not only of the offensive unit but of this team as a whole, as the second-year signal-caller looks to lead his team to a 5-0 start to the season.
After arguably the best game of his young Tar Heel career, Alijah Huzzie will represent the defense as its captain. The transfer defensive back recorded two interceptions in the team’s victory over Pittsburgh two weeks ago, as he also made a major impact as a member of the special teams unit.
Representing the special teams unit will be John Copenhaver. The tight end hasn’t been much of a factor in the passing game (which could very well be tied to a hand injury he suffered in the season opener), but he’s still a very valuable asset both on offense and on special teams.
The UNC Football program hosts Syracuse in an important ACC contest this afternoon at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 PM EST.
