The UNC football program returns after an off week to host Syracuse in another important ACC contest on Saturday afternoon.

For the first time since 2020 (and just the third time over the last 20 seasons), the UNC football program will take on Syracuse in what is an important ACC contest for both teams.

Mack Brown and the Tar Heels had a “bye week” last weekend, as they went into their off time with a 4-0 record. The Tar Heels aren’t satisfied, as they hope to continue their hot start to the 2023 season going.

Standing in their way is Dino Babers and the Orange, a group that looks to rebound after a disappointing loss to Clemson.

Every conference game matters, as both teams understand the importance of this one. With a win, not only can North Carolina make it very difficult for the Orange (who would have two conference losses) to compete for an ACC title game berth, but would continue to boost their own record and resume in hopes of playing on December 2.

Led by quarterback Garrett Shrader, the Orange aren’t going to roll over when they visit the Tar Heels on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill. After their week off, it will be very important for the UNC football program to come out of the gates ready to go, as the Tar Heels hope to avoid falling behind like they did against Pittsburgh two weeks prior.
