Ahead of the upcoming NBA season, former UNC basketball star Coby White is ready to go back to his old roots with his signature hairstyle.

Fans of the UNC basketball program vividly remember Coby White’s signature hairstyle during his lone season in Chapel Hill.

A star on the court as a true freshman, fans fell in love with White as he not only wowed them with his playmaking ability but won them over with his personality. A big part of his personality was his afro-style hair, a trademark of White during his time at North Carolina.

Since being drafted into the NBA by the Chicago Bulls, White has tested out some different hairstyles as his career progressed. However, heading into this season, it appears that White is ready to go back to his roots.

As part of the Bulls’ media day, White took a question regarding his hairstyle from fellow teammate Patrick Williams. This moment helped the former Tar Heel reveal that he is planning on going back to his roots, channeling what he called the “high school Coby.”

White admits that his mindset regarding his hairstyle could change at any time, but for now, UNC basketball fans should expect to see Coby rocking his signature afro when he takes the court for the first time since signing a three-year extension this past offseason.
