The former UNC basketball standout recalled one of his greatest moments as a Tar Heel, but he does regret missing on another posterizing dunk against Duke.

Fans of the UNC basketball program vividly remember Danny Green’s poster dunk over Duke guard Greg Paulus.

In fact, the highlight never gets old!

Now that we went down memory lane, we’re on the same path as Green, as well as former Tar Heel star Theo Pinson.

On the latest episode of Tidal League’s Run Your Race podcast, the former Tar Heels discussed Green’s dunk in closer context, as the topic of celebrating after a highlight-reel dunk came into the conversation.

Both players agreed that celebrating dunks was not something legendary coach Roy Williams was looking for, as he reminded his players of the importance of hustling back down the court to play defense. Green went on to say that he hasn’t been able to celebrate big dunks throughout his entire career, as San Antonio Spurs coach Greg Popovich echoed the same sentiment that his college coach did.

Although this dunk is one that will be remembered not only in UNC basketball history but within the historic North Carolina/Duke rivalry as a whole, Green mentioned that he regrets missing an opportunity to claim another dunk victim.

The dunk he was referring to was one that once again happened against Duke, only this time Jon Scheyer, the current Duke men’s basketball coach, was the one that Green believes was waiting for him under the basket.

Oh, what could have been!
