Game No. 4

819. ABC. 7:30 PM EST. 4-1. . 4-0. 825.

Fans of the UNC football program may not want to hear this, but the best game of the Saturday slate is being held in Durham.

The 4-0 Duke Blue Devils will host the 4-1 Notre Dame Fighting Irish, a game that will be featured by ESPN’s College GameDay. This Top 25 matchup has a lot of implications for both teams, even though this isn’t an ACC conference tilt (remember, Notre Dame is independent for football).

After defeating Clemson 28-7 in their season opener, Duke hasn’t been challenged over the last few weeks. The Blue Devils have outscored their opponents 121-28 over the last three weeks, averaging a staggering 40.3 points per game. Riley Leonard has done a really good job of leading the Blue Devils’ offensive attack.

Notre Dame is coming off a brutal loss to Ohio State, a game that simply slipped out of their hands. Sam Hartman has put up Heisman Trophy-like numbers at quarterback for the Fighting Irish, while Audric Estime leads the nation in rushing with 591 yards through five weeks of action.

Duke looks to keep its hot start rolling, while Notre Dame looks to get back on track with a statement victory. This one has the makings of being one of the best games on the schedule this week, as UNC football fans are likely rooting for the Fighting Irish in this one.
