UNC Basketball: Nassir Little part of NBA mega trade
The former UNC basketball standout is reportedly heading to Phoenix as part of the biggest three-team trade of the NBA offseason.
Throughout the NBA offseason, one of the biggest storylines surrounded the future of All-Star point guard Damian Lillard.
Lillard, who requested a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers in hopes of landing with a contender, was focused on finding a way to end up with the Miami Heat.
However, that didn’t happen, as Lillard was traded to another Eastern Conference contender.
Adrian Wojnarowski reported that a three-team trade has been agreed upon between the Trail Blazers, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Phoenix Suns. This deal involves a former UNC basketball standout, Nassir Little.
The reported terms have Lillard heading to Milwaukee, a package of players (headlined by DeAndre Ayton) heading to Portland, and Little, along with three other players, making their way to Phoenix.
Little spent his first four seasons in Portland after the organization selected him with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Over 192 games played, Little was mostly used as a reserve, averaging six points per game playing just over 17 minutes per contest.
The Phoenix Suns have NBA Finals aspirations, as their roster, spearheaded by the trio of Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker, look to lead this year’s squad to a title. Little might not be a starter on this team, but he could be a pivotal role player for a team that could use some depth off the bench.
