UNC Football: Mack Brown makes FBS coaching history
With the UNC football program’s victory over South Carolina, head coach Mack Brown made some FBS coaching history in the process.
The UNC football program’s 2023 season got off to a great start as they defeated South Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on Saturday night in Charlotte.
For Mack Brown, the win was a significant one, as he made FBS coaching history with his latest victory.
Brown became the first FBS coach ever to win 100 games as the head coach of two different programs. After previously accomplishing the feat at the University of Texas, Brown now can say that he’s won 100 games as the UNC football program’s leader.
In the locker room after the game, Brown was presented with a UNC football jersey with the No. 100 on it, as the team made sure to recognize their head coach’s historical accomplishment.
This accomplishment is just another reminder of what an outstanding career Mack Brown has had as a head coach. Not many coaches can say they’ve won 100-plus games with one program, let alone two!
Of course, in typical Mack Brown fashion, the win was celebrated by some postgame locker room dancing!
